Ban ki-moon Hails HM the King’s Leadership in Mobilizing Action Against Climate Change

Marrakech, 17/11/2016 (MAP) – UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon expressed, on Thursday in Marrakech at COP22, his “admiration” and “recognition” for the leadership and commitment of HM King Mohammed VI in mobilizing the international and regional efforts to tackle climate change.

“I admire and respect the leadership and commitment of HM King Mohammed VI for mobilizing such global and regional action on climate change,” said the UN Secretary-General during a high-level event, entitled “Accelerating Climate Action”.

“Our host country, Morocco, has worked with an alliance of some 30 African countries and major development organizations to launch the Adaptation of African Agriculture (AAA) initiative,” said Ban.

“This partnership will create more resilient food systems in the continent and promote the Sustainable Development Goals,” he added.
