Mohammed VI Foundation for Environmental Protection Honors African Journalists

Casablanca – The Mohammed VI Foundation for Environmental Protection honored, on Thursday in Casablanca, six young African journalists for their work on the environment as part of the 3rd edition of its program “Strengthening the capacity of professionals’ communication in sustainable development.”

The young journalists received their certificate of merit after a competition involving 68 African journalists representing 11 countries, including Morocco, Tunisia, Senegal, Burkina Faso, Guinea, Benin, Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire, Congo, Mauritania and Algeria.

Journalist Kenzly Mideh of “Great Event TV” (Côte d’Ivoire) won an award for her radio column entitled “The strategy chosen by Côte d’Ivoire’s agriculture to tackle climate change.”

Lala Kabore-Dera, of the “qeenmafa.net” website (Burkina Faso), was rewarded for her article “The urgent need to protect the tourist site of Lake Tengrela.”

Johnson Gwladys, of the African Economic Information Agency “Ecofin” (Benin), was selected for his article “The impact of the hybrid power plant project on the Village of Igbéré.”

Rym Benarous, of the newspaper “Le Temps” (Tunisia), was awarded for her article on “The protection of the coastline and marine turtles.”

Ndiol Seck, of the daily “Le Soleil” (Senegal), was chosen by the jury for his article “Coastal erosion.”

Finally, Zran F. Goulyzia of the “Afrikatv.net” website (Côte d’Ivoire) was awarded for his audiovisual report on “The presentation of a pilot project on electrification using natural hydrogen.”
