Morocco, Hungary Sign MoU on Foodstuff Health Security

Meknès, 20/04/2017 (MAP) – Morocco and Hungary inked, on Thursday in Meknès, a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on foodstuff health security, on the sidelines of the 12th International Agriculture Fair (SIAM).

Signed by secretary general of the ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Rural Development, Waters and Forests Mohammed Sadiki and Istvàn Nagy, Hungary’s vice-minister of agriculture, this memorandum, which spans 3 years, is aimed at laying the framework for collaboration between the national office of foodstuff health security (ONSSA) and Hungary’s food safety authority (NEBIH) in the field of health security.

Both offices commit to sharing information about laws and rules and regulations related to foodstuff security and health supervision as applied in both countries, and about official control activities concerning imports and exports of many products, mainly forage, animals, plants, animal and non-animal products, foodstuff, seeds, and veterinary products.

The agreement is also meant to strengthen collaboration between diagnosis and analysis laboratories in the two countries and sharing expertise in fields of common interest.
