Fez, 19/04/2017 (MAP) – The African Union and Guinea President-in-Office Alpha Condé highlighted, on Tuesday in Fez, the important progress made by Morocco in the agricultural sector since the adoption of Morocco’s Green Plan.

Before his departure from Fez-Saïss airport after a visit to Morocco, Condé told reporters that this progress has covered the entire agricultural field and more particularly the livestock sector that was spotlighted during the 9th edition of the National Agriculture Conference, held in the central city of Meknès under the theme “Agriculture and food safety along the water”.

Condé also hailed the return of Morocco to the African Union, which he said will bolster cooperation among African countries.

The Guinean president stressed, on Monday at the inaugural ceremony of the 9th Agricultural Conference that the “Triple A Initiative”, promoted by HM Mohammed VI during the COP22, is an innovative and concrete resolution to the climate change challenges for African farmers.

Condé also attended the official opening of the 12th edition of the International Agriculture Fair (SIAM), taking place on April 18-23 in the same city.

This major event, launched in spring 2006, is meant to be a platform for economic exchanges between national and international operators.
