Casablanca – Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, Rural Development, Water and Forestry Aziz Akhannouch discussed, on Wednesday in Casablanca, with the executive director of the Green Climate Fund (GCF) Yannick Glemarec the measures to be put in place to strengthen bilateral cooperation between Morocco and the Fund.

At the end of the meeting, Glemarec said that Morocco is “a leading country in terms of programming for the Green Climate Fund, both in terms of the volume of programming and the quality of its projects, for which we have outlined future prospects both regarding our commitment in Morocco and at the international level”.

For his part, Akhannouch stressed the importance of this meeting, noting that the Fund is a strategic partner for Morocco for which there has already been $80 million in funding, notably for date palms, argan trees and everything related to resource sustainability.
