Ouagadougou 10/11/2017 (MAP) – Morocco is willing to boost the agriculture sector in Africa, Speaker of the House of Representatives (lower house), Habib El Malki, pointed out Thursday in Ouagadougou.

Speaking at the 40th conference of speakers of national parliaments of the African Parliamentary Union (APU), El Malki said that Morocco, a world leader in phosphates, continues to set up strategic partnerships in this area with several African friendly countries.

The Kingdom will spare no effort and will remain willing to share its experience, expertise and know-how with the aim of boosting the agriculture sector in Africa, he added.

In this regard, El Malki recalled that Morocco has launched, on the eve of the COP22 in Marrakech, the initiative for the Adaptation of African Agriculture (AAA).

Africa’s natural and human resources will enable the continent to become a global agricultural powerhouse, El Malki noted.

The Moroccan official also warned against the effects of climate changes, including famine, drought, desertification and mass exodus.

Habib El Malki represented Morocco at the 40th conference of speakers of national parliaments of the African Parliamentary Union (APU), which opened Thursday in Ouagadougou.
