‘Rainbow Warrior’ Sailing Ship of Greenpeace to Put in at Tangiers on Oct.28

Tangiers, 17/10/2016 (MAP) – “Rainbow Warrior” sailing ship of Greenpeace will put in at Tangiers on October 28, few weeks prior to the 22nd session of the Conference of Parties (COP22) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).

While the world’s heads of state are getting ready for the Climate Summit, slated for November 7-18 in Marrakech, “Rainbow Warrior” ship is sailing across the Mediterranean to gather the messages of MENA region populations and carry them to leaders during the COP22, urging them to commit in concrete terms to making a transition towards a world powered by 100 percent renewable energy, said a statement by Greenpeace.

In this context, Greenpeace launched an online platform to gather photos and messages showing the will of this region’s inhabitants to live in a world where solar energy covers all their needs.

After Tangiers, “Rainbow Warrior” will put in at Casablanca.
