Meknes to Host 14th Annual International Agriculture Fair on April 16-21
Casablanca – The 14th edition of the International Agricultural Fair (SIAM) will be held on April 16-21 in Meknes under the theme “Agriculture, employment lever and rural world future”, announced Thursday the Fair’s association.
Organized under the high patronage of HM King Mohammed VI, SIAM 14th edition has chosen Switzerland as its guest of honor, according to the same source.
Spread over an area of 185,000 m², including 95,000 m² covered, SIAM, which is one of Africa’s largest events dedicated to agriculture and agricultural sector actors, will bring together 1500 exhibitors representing 60 participating countries, the association said in a statement, noting that one million visitors are also expected to attend the event.
The Fair features, inter alia, 300 conferences on different themes related to current agricultural issues, notes the same source, adding that visitors will have the opportunity to discover competitions of different breeds at the Livestock pole, in addition to ring & equestrian show animations.
The association also points out that Switzerland, one of the most competitive economies in the world, is welcomed for the first time as a guest of honor at SIAM, adding that nearly half of Switzerland’s territory is used in agriculture, which in turn provides more than half of food goods consumed in this European country.
