SIAM 2017 Attracted Some 810,000 Visitors (Official)

Meknes – The 12th International Agriculture Fair (SIAM 2017), which ended on Sunday, attracted some 810,000 visitors, according to the latest estimates of the event’s manager Jaouad Chami.

This edition has recorded a large influx estimated at 810,000 visitors, especially since the opening of its doors to the public, he said.

Chami added that the Fair also featured the organization of 33 conferences and colloquia as well as the signing of 21 agreements.

This major event, a platform for economic exchanges and a space for future reflection, chose this year the theme “Agribusiness and Sustainable Agricultural Value Chains” in order to stress the need for synergies between the different stakeholders of the Moroccan agriculture sector.

The 2017 edition has beaten the record with 1,230 exhibitors from 66 countries.

Thanks to this Fair, Morocco has become a crossroads for international businesses and a hot destination for agriculture and the food-processing industry continentally and internationally.

The six-day event offered a unique perspective into rural life and boasts local products by Morocco and the countries attending the event.
