Water Project Aims at Solving Potable Water Issue in Rural Areas (Official)

Rabat – The water project, developed under high royal instructions, is meant to solve the issue of drinking water supply, mainly in rural and mountainous areas , known for their limited water resources, said secretary of State for Water, Charafat Afailal.

In a statement to the press at the end of a meeting on the issue of water, chaired Tuesday by HM King Mohammed VI at the royal palace in Rabat, Afailal noted that this project has an urgent and immediate component devoted to solving the potable water issue in rural and mountainous zones, as well as a medium-term constituent meant to accelerate the pace of investment in water infrastructures.

She added that among the infrastructures involved in the investment as part of this project, developed in coordination with the ministerial departments concerned, are high-capacity dams, which are expected to experience a heavy demand in the coming years, as well as desalination plants in case the construction of dams seems impossible in those regions.
