CGEM Launches Climate Change Training for Enterprises

Casablanca, 30/09/2017 (MAP) – Employers’ Association (CGEM) launched, on Friday in Casablanca, training sessions on climate change for 30 enterprises executives, as part of a series of thematic workshops on the challenges and opportunities linked to that issue.

The sessions will touch on enterprise greenhouse gas emissions and how to mitigate them, global warming, adaptation needs, and projects to access climate funding, said CGEM in a statement.

Scheduled by the end of December, the training is part of the implementation of the Moroccan Business Climate Initiative (IECM), aimed at strengthening the skills of Moroccan companies and helping with the emergence of an expertise to support economic operators leading the change in order to create new business opportunities and jobs, it added.

Aware of the crucial role the private sector will play in honouring the commitments of countries under the Paris Agreement, the CGEM affirmed that it attaches “great importance” to strengthening corporate capacities in climate governance.
