COP22: Spanish PM to Pay Visit to Marrakech

Madrid 11/11/2016 (MAP) – Spain’s Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy will travel to Marrakech on Tuesday to take part in the 22nd Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP-22), Spanish Government spokesman Inigo Méndez de Vigo said on Friday.

Rajoy will participate in the high-level segment of COP 22, he told reporters in Madrid.

Spain will quickly ratify the Paris Agreement, Environment Minister Isabel Garcia Tejerina said.

“Ratification will allow us to participate fully in all the decisions which will start to be adopted” after UN climate talks currently underway in Morocco which Rajoy will attend, she added.
