Govt. Chief Holds Talks with Hollande on Counter-terrorism

Marrakech, 16/11/2016 (MAP) – Head of government AbdelilahBenkirane and French President François Hollande held, Wednesday on the sidelines of the COP22 in Marrakech, talks on terrorism and other challenges facing the Mediterranean region.

During the talks, Hollande welcomed the level of cooperation between French and Moroccan institutions involved in the fight against terrorism, which threatens the region and the whole world, Benkirane told the press at the end of talks.

He added that the meeting with Hollande was an opportunity to highlight the excellent relations between Morocco and France on the economic and political level.

Benkirane said that relations between the two countries, which draw their strength from the harmony between HM King Mohammed VI and the French President, are “solid and strategic”.

The talks took place in the presence of president of French Constitutional Council, Laurent Fabius, French ambassador to Morocco, Jean-François Girault, and president of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the French National Assembly, Elisabeth Guigou.
