Grape Cultivation Covers 13,000 Ha in El-Jadida and Sidi Bennour Provinces

El-Jadida –  The cultivation of grapes covers, during the current agricultural season, 13,267 ha in the provinces of El-Jadida and Sidi Bennour.

According to statistics from the regional directorate of agriculture (Casablanca-Settat region), this cultivation accounts for 27% of national table grape production.

The cultivation of grapes constitutes a sector with a strong potential for growth and development of the provinces of El-Jadida and Sidi-Bennour.

Since the start of the crop season, the province of El-Jadida has recorded rainfall of 323 mm against 140 mm at the same period last season, an increase of 131%.

The Sidi Bennour province posted record rainfall reaching 245 mm against 145 mm last year, an increase of 75%.
