Lisbon: Morocco Participates in ‘Smart Cities 2019’ Exhibition

Lisbon – The “Smart Cities 2019” exhibition, dedicated to innovative green technology, was opened on Tuesday in Lisbon with the participation of Morocco.

The exhibition is an opportunity for companies working in the field of innovative green and clean technology as well as intelligent energy management to showcase their various solar and wind energy products (electric cars, electric bicycles, photovoltaic panels…).

Morocco is represented at this event, which will run until 23 May, by Almaden Morocco, a leading manufacturer of photovoltaic modules for the development of clean energy in Africa.

Morocco’s ambassador to Portugal, Othmane Bahnini, told MAP that the presence of Almaden at this exhibition among the world’s leading companies “is a source of pride for our country”.

He added that Morocco’s potential in terms of investment in energy by 2020 is enormous; it is estimated at several billion dollars (18.6), or nearly 156 billion dirhams, and will generate some 50,000 jobs.
