6th Our Ocean Conference Opens in Oslo with Participation of Morocco

Oslo – The sixth Our Ocean Conference kicked off Wednesday in Oslo with the participation of 500 delegates from several countries, including Morocco.

The kingdom is represented at the two-day event by a delegation led by minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, Rural Development, Water and Forests, Aziz Akhannouch.

The conference brings together leaders from governments, businesses, civil society and research institutions to share their experience, identify solutions and commit to action for a clean, healthy and productive ocean.

The event is organised by the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and hosted by Foreign Minister Ine Eriksen Søreide.
As an integral part of the Our Ocean Conference, Sustainable Ocean Alliance and the University of Tromsø will co-host the fourth Our Ocean Youth Leadership Summit.

Several side events will also take place in connection with the conference, organised by a variety of civil society, business and government actors.

The conference is expected to build partnerships between government, industry, science and civil society, putting knowledge, technology and finance into action to meet the challenges facing the ocean and enable production and sustainable use to go hand in hand so that the ocean can continue to provide for the needs of future generations.
