Dakar: Morocco Participates in 20th APUA Congress

Dakar – The 20th Congress of the Association of Power Utilities of Africa (APUA), held under the theme “the Need for Public Service and the Performance of African Electricity Companies”, officially opened on Sunday in Diamniadio, 30 km from Dakar, with the participation of member countries, including Morocco.

Held under the patronage of President of the Republic of Senegal, Macky Sall, with the support of the Ministry of Oil and Energy, and in collaboration with the National Electricity Company in Senegal (Senelec), the event is attended by more than 150 leaders and decision makers of electricity and energy companies, experts, partners, investors, researchers and representatives of civil society.

Morocco is represented at this 20th Congress held at the Abdou Diouf International Conference Center in Diamniado (CICAD), by Director General of the National Office of Electricity and Drinking Water (ONEE), Abderrahim El Hafidi, and Director of Participations, Partnerships and Projects at ONEE, Khalil Lagtari.

This meeting will focus on infrastructure project development, strategy and planning of power sector, and electricity market among other topics of common concern for African power sector.

The 20th APUA Congress provides a great venue for business and trade for power professionals, particularly suppliers of generation, marketing, transmission and distribution equipment, solutions and infrastructure.

The Association of Power Utilities of Africa is dedicated to promoting the development and integration of the African electricity sector through active cooperation.
