Swiss Environment Minister to Visit Morocco on Thursday

Geneva – Swiss minister for the Environment, Transport, Energy and Communications, Doris Leuthard, will pay a working visit to Morocco heading a delegation of economic operators.

This visit follows the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between Morocco and Switzerland in Geneva, on 30 January, said the Swiss Federal Department of Environment, Transport and Energy in a statement.

This declaration of intent aiming to strengthen collaboration between Switzerland and Morocco in the field of energy “must now be implemented”, said the same source.

Leuthard will hold talks with minister of Energy, Mining and Sustainable Development, Aziz Rabbah, and secretary of State to minister of Equipment, Transport, Logistics and Water, in charge of Transport, Mohamed Najib Boulif.

During this working visit, the Swiss minister will be accompanied by representatives from the sectors of energy, transport and water purification. The discussions will focus particularly on “opportunities for cooperation” with Morocco, added the statement.
