COP22 in Morocco, Great Honor for Entire Continent (African expert)

Abidjan, 04/11/2016 (MAP) – The 22nd session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 22) to the UNFCCC, slated for next week in Marrakech, is a great honor for Morocco and the entire continent, said president of the Pan-African AgriBusiness and Agro-Industry Consortium (PanAAC), Moussa Seck.

This global event that will tackle the fight against climate change is a signal of pride for all Africans, Seck told MAP, on the sidelines of his participation in the 3rd edition of Africa Agri Forum, which being is held on November 3-4 in Abidjan.

The African expert in agronomy also welcomed Morocco’s hosting of the COP for the second time after the edition of 2001 (COP7), adding that this reflects the trust of the international community in Morocco in preserving the environment and fighting climate change effects not only at the national and continental level, but also internationally.

“It is for Africa to clearly show the dangers of climate change because it is in the continent where we feel this vulnerability and where climate change claims more victims,” he underlined.
