Génération Green Strategy: Minister Highlights Collective Land’s Role in Promoting Investment

Rabat – The ‘Génération Green’ agricultural strategy places collective land at the center of its mechanisms and makes it a lever for promoting investment, said Mohamed Sadiki, Minister of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development, Water and Forests, on Monday.

Responding to a question during a House of Representatives (lower house) session, Sadiki stressed that the objective is to “ensure an inclusive and integrated development that is able to bring out a new generation of young agricultural entrepreneurs and an agricultural middle class.”

In this sense, the Minister reported a close collaboration between the Ministries of Agriculture and Interior, noting that a joint circular has been issued in this wake defining the procedure for implementing this project which aims to mobilize and develop not less than one million hectares.

The ministry, he added, has also developed a comprehensive offer dedicated to the development of collective land through the establishment of an adequate incentive system under the agricultural development fund, in addition to the development of a decree setting the financial incentives granted to right holders.
