Morocco, Spain Sign MoU on Nuclear Energy

Rabat – The Moroccan Agency on Nuclear and Radiological Safety and Security (AMSSNuR) and the Spanish Nuclear Safety Council (CNS) signed, on Monday in Rabat, a memorandum of understanding (MoU).

Under this agreement, the two regulatory authorities commit themselves to share information on issues related to the peaceful use of nuclear energy, notably to the experiences and lessons learned from nuclear accidents, the improvement of security and to communication in a nuclear or radiological crisis, said a statement by the AMSSNuR.

This memorandum, which is part of the Moroccan Agency’s support program for monitoring and cooperation among other things, also covers the management of nuclear or radiological emergencies, the management of radioactive waste, the reduction of serious accident risks and mitigation of the serious consequences of accidents, in addition to research and development, added the same source.
