British Council Launches Climate Connnection Initiative to Address Climate Change

Rabat, 01/06/2021 (MAP) – The British Council announced Tuesday the launch of a new global initiative to address climate change ahead of the COP26 summit, taking place in November.

To support COP26 ambitions, the British Council is working with partners to provide a platform for global climate cooperation, dialogue and action, says a statement published on the Council’s website.

The Climate Connection programme brings together 200 million people from different countries, generations and backgrounds, including young people, policy makers, artists, scientists, business and community leaders, the source adds.

In particular, it focuses on the next generation of climate leaders and gives practical support to young people and communities most impacted by climate change, helping them share their perspectives globally and achieve real change.

The United Kingdom will host the 26th United Nations Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP26) in Glasgow, Scotland, from 1 to 12 November 2021.

The summit will bring together over 30,000 delegates from around the world, including heads of states, climate experts and campaigners, to agree on coordinated action to tackle climate change.
