COP22: Jonathan Pershing Lauds Morocco’s Excellent Contribution

Marrakesh, 14/11/2016 (MAP) – U.S. Special Envoy for Climate Change Jonathan Pershing lauded, on Monday in Marrakesh, the excellent contribution of Morocco, host country of the 22nd Conference of Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP22).

“The contribution of Morocco, host country, has been really outstanding since the beginning and we are driven by the will to continue working with the Kingdom in the future,” said the US official during a press conference on the sidelines of the COP22.

Pershing recalled that president Barack Obama and all the US administration have made the climate issue a top priority, highlighting the great strides made in order to reduce carbon pollution in the United States and foster resilience to the impact of climate change.

The official commended the ongoing momentum at the international level since the start of the Paris Agreement enforcement.
