HM the King Arrives in COP22 Site in Marrakech

Marrakech, 15/11/2016 (MAP) – HM King Mohammed VI, accompanied by HRH Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan and HRH Prince Moulay Rachid, arrived on Tuesday in Bab Ighli site in Marrakech, which hosts the 22nd Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP22).

Upon his arrival, HM the King was greeted by UN Secretary-General, Ban Ki-moon, Executive Secretary of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, Patricia Espinosa, and COP22 President, Salaheddine Mezouar.

The 22nd Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, which will run until November 18th, aims at operationalizing the Paris Agreement and speeding up action before 2020 to reduce the impact of climate changes.

The COP 22 is an opportunity to debate and discuss several issues relating in particular to agriculture, food security, energy, industry, transport and water.
