Morocco’s Dams Storage Capacity Reaches 34.2% – Ministry

Rabat – The storage capacity of Moroccan dams on Wednesday reached 5.50 billion m3 (34.2%), the ministry of Equipment and Water has said.

This level is lower than the one reported during the same period in 2021, when stored volumes of water stood at 6.84 billion cubic meters, which corresponds to a storage capacity of 43.9%, the source added.

Al-Wahda dam has recorded a fill rate of 59.2% (2.08 billion m3) against 63.3% in the same period in 2021.

Idriss 1st dam comes second with a storage capacity of 509.7 mln m3 (45.1%) against 706.3 mln m3 (62.5%) in the same period last year.

Oued El Makhazine’s dam ranks third with a fill rate of 67.7% (455.4 mln m3).
