Tangier: Winners of 1st ‘RWM Awards’ Honored

Tangier – The winners of the first edition of the International Recycling and Waste Management Exhibition “RWM Awards” were honored, Friday evening in Tangier.

The winners are initiatives and innovative projects led by local actors, professionals and associations/cooperatives, at national and regional levels, in the field of recycling and waste management.

Mourad Morsli was awarded the national prize for the best Research and Development (R&D) project for his project “Demolition and construction waste.” The project focuses on the recycling and recovery of construction and demolition waste to contribute to the decarbonation and economy of resources.

The regional prize went to the project “Atlas Difae” on the recycling of olive residue for biomass production.

In the category of best companies, the national prize was awarded to the company “Lombrisol”, specializing in the treatment and recovery of organic waste for the production of biofertilizers.

The regional prize was awarded to the “Chama Green” project, which aims to recycle domestic, animal or agricultural waste to produce organic fertilizer.

The national award for the best association went to the startup “Paveco”, which produces and markets the world’s first ecological pavement made from mining and plastic waste.

The “Ajialona” cooperative specializing in the collection of rural waste won the regional award for the best cooperative.

This competition aims to promote and enhance the efforts made and rewards the best projects and innovative research and development initiatives, said Mohamed Moudarir, director of the Énergie et Mines Mag at the award ceremony.

Held by Énergie et Mines Mag, Morocco’s 1st magazine specializing in energy, mining and sustainable development the first International Recycling and Waste Management Exhibition (RWM Expo) is sponsored by the Ministry of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development and the Ministry of Industry and Trade, in partnership with the Regional Investment Center of Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima and the Tangier City Council.

This exhibition aims to contribute to Morocco’s collective effort to implement a sustainable development model driven by the strategic guidelines of HM King Mohammed VI and by the Kingdom’s international commitments.
