Palestinian PM Expresses ‘Recognition’ for Morocco’s Key Role in Defending Palestinian Cause

Marrakech, 15/11/2016 (MAP) – Palestinian Prime Minister, Rami Hamdallah, expressed his “recognition” for Morocco’s key role, under the leadership of HM King Mohammed VI, in defending the Palestinian cause.

In a statement to the press at the end of his talks, Monday in Marrakech, with Interior Minister, Mohamed Hassad, on the sidelines of his participation in the COP22, Hamdallah said that the Palestinian State is “deeply grateful” to Morocco’s central role, under the leadership of HM King Mohammed VI, through the Sovereign’s presidency of the Al Quds Committee and the support of this Committee for Palestine and for the holy city of the Al Quds, in particular.

He stressed, in this regard, that Morocco has and will always support the Palestinian cause and people.

He also said that his participation in the COP22 will be an opportunity to highlight the impact of climate change on his country, as well as the negative effects endured by the environment in Palestine because of the Israeli occupation.

During this meeting, the two parties examined the means to boost cooperation relations between Morocco and Palestine in all fields, notably the exchange of expertise and experience on initiatives aiming at fighting climate change and protecting the environment.
