Morocco’s Dam Storage Capacity Reaches 38.8% (Ministry)
Rabat – Dam’s storage capacity in Morocco has now reached 6.057 billion m3 (38.8%), the ministry of Equipment, Transport, Logistics and Water has said.
This level is lower than the one reported during the same period in 2019, when stored volumes of water stood at 7.681 billion cubic meters, which corresponds to a storage capacity of 49.3%, the source added.
Chefchaouen’s dam has recorded a fill rate of 100% against 97.1% in the same period in 2020.
Other dams recorded a decrease in water supplies compared to the same period in 2020, including Al Wahda in Taounate (from 59.2% to 54.2%) and Bin El Ouidane in Azilal (from 41.7% to 19.9%), according to the same source.
