Mission Innovation is a global initiative bringing together 24 countries in addition to the European Union and aiming to accelerate innovation in the field of clean energies, through the strengthening of public investment, the involvement of the private sector and international cooperation.
It was launched at COP21 in November 2015 when world leaders gathered in Paris to tackle climate change.
Morocco joined the Mission Innovation alliance in 2019, becoming the first and only African country to be part of the initiative.
Under this initiative, the Ministry of Energy, Mining and Environment launched in December 2020, through IRESEN, the multilateral call for projects “MICall20” to support innovative projects linked to digitization in the field of energy transition.
