2nd ‘World Power-to-X Summit’ Wraps Up in Marrakech

Marrakech – The second edition of the “World Power-to-X Summit” (PTX22) wrapped up, Friday in Marrakech, following three days of exchange on ways to promote innovative strategies in the field of green hydrogen.

Organized by the Institute of Research in Solar Energy and New Energies (IRESEN), in partnership with the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P), this event was attended by more than 500 investors, policy makers, business managers, industry leaders, as well as experts and researchers from over thirty countries.

“For three days, we discussed the different aspects of the green hydrogen value chain and its applications, and we sealed partnerships for a new era of clean energy,” said Samir Rachidi, Acting Director General of IRESEN and Secretary General of the Green H2 Cluster, in a speech delivered at the closing ceremony of this global meeting.

The participants focused on the prospects for collaboration as well as on project schemes that are not limited only to facilities to export the green molecule, but also on recommendations to attract the heavy and chemical industries that want to decarbonize, he said.

During this ceremony, the Africanity Trophy Foundation awarded a special prize to IRESEN for the outstanding organization of this international meeting and in support for this initiative that contributes to the development of Morocco and Africa.

On the sidelines of the second edition of PTX22, five partnership agreements were signed to promote research and innovation in green hydrogen and seize the opportunities offered by this economic and industrial sector.

A host of policy makers, industrialists and experts in the field of green hydrogen have moderated panels and high-level sessions on the opportunities offered by this green molecule and its derivatives.
