8th Islamic Conference of Environment Ministers on 2-3 Oct. in Rabat
Rabat – The 8th Islamic Conference of Environment ministers will be held on 2-3 Oct. at the ISESCO’s headquarters in Rabat.
Held on the theme “Role of cultural and religious factors in the protection of the environment and sustainable development”, the conference will bring together environment ministers of member countries alongside representatives of several regional and international organizations, ISESCO said in a release.
The event will address several topics, including the implementation of a strategy to activate the role of cultural and religious factors in the protection of the environment and the achievement of sustainable development goals in the Islamic world.
The opening ceremony will be marked by the presentation of the prizes of the Higher Committee of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Award for Environmental Management in the Islamic World (KSAAEM).
The prizes will be awarded to 17 winners from 13 Islamic countries in five categories: best individual or collective research, achievement or practice in the environment and sustainable development, best practice in environment and sustainable development projects or activities in the public sector in the Member States, best practice in environment and sustainable development projects or activities in the private sector in the Member States, best leading practices or activities in the environment and sustainable development in non-governmental organizations, and the best environmentally-friendly Islamic city.
