Africa Investments Forum&Award: Morocco Wins ‘Best State Strategy’ Prize for Renewable Energy
Rabat – Morocco won the “Best State Strategy” prize for renewable energy at the Africa Investments Forum & Award, held on November 23rd in Paris.
The prize, initiated by the “Leaders League” media and rating agency, was presented to secretary-general of the ministry of Energy, Mining and Sustainable Development, Abderrahim El Hafidi, said the ministry in a statement.
Morocco was elected among several African countries candidates for this award, by a jury of about sixty professionals from the public and private sectors, based on numerous criteria, notably the relevance and quality of investment opportunities and their evolution over the last three years.
Speaking on this occasion, El Hafidi highlighted the Kingdom’s energy strategy, mainly based on the development of renewable energy, the strengthening of energy efficiency and the regional integration of energy markets and networks.
He also called on African countries to follow the Moroccan energy model, given the importance of their renewable energy potential, added the same source.
Africa Investments Forum & Awards is an event dedicated to investment opportunities in the African continent. It brings together a large number of European and African decision makers, as well as eminent African government figures.
