Govt. Chief Chairs Moroccan Delegation at COP26

Rabat – The head of government Aziz Akhannouch will chair the Moroccan delegation that will participate, at the beginning of this week, in the proceedings of the 26th United Nations Conference of the Parties on climate change (COP26), which will be held in Glasgow, Scotland, from November 1 to 12.

The Moroccan delegation includes Mohamed Sadiki, Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, Rural Development and Water and Forests, and Leila Benali, Minister of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development, said a statement by the department of the Head of Government.

This conference will be an opportunity to present the ambitious policies and strategies that Morocco has successfully undertaken, under the wise leadership of HM King Mohammed VI, to consolidate the foundations of sustainable development, encourage the energy transition and support clean technologies, as part of strengthening the effective contribution of the Kingdom to international efforts in this area, in accordance with its international obligations, said the statement.
