Launch of “My ANOC” Platform for Sale of Ovine and Caprine Animals
Rabat – The e-commerce platform “My Anoc Market” was launched Wednesday in Rabat, during a ceremony chaired by the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, Rural Development and Water and Forests, Mohammed Sadiki.
“MyANOC” is a platform created by the National Association of Sheep and Goats (ANOC) to allow its farmer members to sell their ovine and caprine animals online. It also offers to consumers the possibility to buy the animals and to have them delivered.
The platform allows direct contact between the breeder and the consumer, minimizing the problem of multiple intermediaries. It is also intended for red meat operators (butchers and butcher shops) who wish to buy animals with specific characteristics.
Speaking on this occasion, Sadiki said that this application will allow farmers to sell sheep without intermediaries, and consumers to have a wide range of choices in terms of breeds and prices, without having to travel to markets.
This initiative will give an impetus to the structuring of the production chain of sheep and goats, and red meat in general at the national level, he said.
The application will increase sales of small ruminants at the national level by 2030, under the strategy of agricultural development “Generation Green”.
The platform allows buyers to visualize the products available for sale with their characteristics (breed, weight, age…) and to consult the data of the breeders online with the possibility of running advanced multi-criteria searches.
