Spanish Loan of €5 Mln for two Water Treatment Plants in Assa Zag and Moulay Brahim
Madrid – The Spanish Council of Ministers approved, on Tuesday, a loan of five million euros for the construction of two water treatment plants in Assa Zag and Moulay Brahim.
This loan will be granted through the Fund for the internalisation of the company (FIEM) to the National Office of Electricity and Drinking Water (ONEE), said the Spanish government in a statement issued Wednesday.
The project consists of the supply and installation of two compact reverse osmosis treatment plants to reduce the content of mineral salts in water in the cities of Assa Zag and Moulay Brahim, and the maintenance of these stations for a maximum period of five years, said the same source.
The project has a ”strategic importance” for Spain, because it represents a new stage in trade relations with Morocco, noted the Spanish government.
It is a sector that offes opportunities, because of its growth potential and its competitive position in the market, according to the same source.
”We hope that trade relations between the two countries will become even closer and that this will benefit our companies,” the statement concluded.
