All Requirements are Met to Ensure Success of COP22, Ségolène Royal

Marrakech, 18/10/2016 (MAP), All requirements are met to make sure that the 22nd conference of parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP22) will be a huge success, said, on Tuesday in Marrakech, COP21 president Ségolène Royal.

Speaking at the opening of the Pre-COP ministerial meeting, held on Oct. 18-19 and meant to finalize preparations for the COP22, Ségolène lauded the good and remarkable work done by Morocco to host, in exceptional conditions, this COP22, lauding the unwavering commitment by the Moroccan authorities in organizing this event.

During her COP21 presidency, Ségolène said that she had three main concerns, namely climate urgency, climate justice and climate efficiency.

She also hailed initiatives by influential powers as the USA and China which had ratified the Paris Agreement, and urged the remaining states to ratify it ahead of the COP22 opening.
