Emir of Qatar to Participate in COP22 and African Summit in Marrakech
Doha 14/11/2016 (MAP) – Emir of the State of Qatar, HH Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani, will participate in the 22nd Conference of the Parties (COP 22) to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), Qatar News Agency (QNA) said.
HH the Emir will also participate in the summit of African heads of state and government, the source added.
Some 70 heads of state and government will take part in the COP 22.
The COP 22 is an opportunity to debate and discuss several issues relating in particular to agriculture, food security, energy, industry, transport and water.
The event is taking place in Bab Ighli village, which extends over an area of nearly 300,000 m2.
Around 20,000 delegates from 196 countries are gathering at the COP 22.
