Switzerland, “Reliable Partner” of Morocco: Ambassador

Rabat 29/09/2016 (MAP) – Switzerland, the fifth largest investor in Morocco with some EUR 600,000 million, is a “reliable partner” of the Kingdom, Swiss ambassador to Morocco, Massimo Baggi, said here on Wednesday.

This demonstrates the growing confidence of Swiss companies in Morocco, the diplomat pointed out during a reception at his residence in Rabat in the presence of reporters, political actors and association leaders.

Relations between the two countries are set to develop further, he noted, adding that this year coincides with the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between his country and Morocco.

Cooperation between the two countries englobes several areas, he said, adding that his country is committed to contribute to the success of the 22nd session of the Conference of the Parties (COP22) to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, scheduled in November in Marrakech.

On the cultural side, Swiss ambassador highlighted the “great success” of the retrospective exhibition of Alberto Giacometti held at the Mohammed VI Museum of Modern and Contemporary Arts in Rabat from April 20 to September 4, 2016 in addition to the publication of a book in Morocco on the history of Switzerland.
