Morocco: Dams Filled to 34.3% (Ministry)

Rabat – The reservoirs of the Kingdom’s main dams reached on April 11, 2022, more than 5.52 billion cubic meters (m3), a filling rate of 34.3%, according to the Ministry of Equipment and Water.

At the same date last year, the reserves of dams have accumulated more than 8.19 billion m3, a filling rate of 50.8%, said the ministry in a document on the daily situation of the main dams in the Kingdom.

In detail, the Alwahda dam has the largest reservoir with a volume reaching more than 2.03 billion m3 and a filling rate of 57.7%, against 74.5%, a year earlier.

The Idriss I dam comes in second place with a reservoir of 508.6 million m3, a filling rate of 45% against 79% at the same time last year (892 million m3).

With a filling rate of 68.1%, the Oued El Makhazine dam is ranked third with a reservoir standing at 458.5 million m3.
