Wildfires in Ouezzane: Efforts Underway to Spare Homes – Local Sources

Ouezzane – Efforts are underway to control the forest fires that broke out in the communes of Zoumi and Mokrisset in the province of Ouezzane, local sources said Friday.

Human resources and intervention mechanisms were strengthened to control the fire and spare the nearby housing groups.

According to a preliminary report from the local sources, 210 hectares of forest cover have been destroyed by fire, with no human casualties recorded.

On Thursday, the local authorities mobilized several resources, materials, technical means, including 4 Canadair aircraft, 4 “Turbo Trush” aircraft, fire tanker trucks, ambulances, first response vehicles, and other equipment to put out the fires.

Hundreds of members of the Royal Armed Forces, the Gendarmerie Royale, the Civil Protection, the Auxiliary Forces, the National Agency for Water and Forests, and local authorities are mobilized to contain the fire.
