COP22 Reinforces Confidence in Morocco (Peruvian MP)
Lima – The hosting of the 22nd Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP22) in Marrakesh has reinforced confidence in Morocco and its credibility at the international level, as well as its unfailing commitment to fighting climate change, said president of Peru-Morocco parliamentary friendship group, Roland Reategui Flores.
In a press release, received by MAP-Latin America, Reategui expressed the group’s congratulations for “the success of this important event” and hailed the significance of its achievements under the leadership of HM King Mohammed VI.
The MP also lauded the “essential and important” contribution of the sovereign to the success of this global event, as well as his capacity to mobilize the international community in order to tackle climate change.
Peru, in its quality as host country of the COP20, which opened the way for the Paris Agreement, hailed Morocco’s efforts for hosting the COP22 as well as its endeavour for the entry into force of the said Agreement as well as its effective implementation, he said.
