Hassan II Faculty of Gaza, New Vision of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences

Gaza – The scientific branches at the Hassan II Faculty of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, under the Al-Azhar University of Gaza, have now a new specialty “Veterinary Medicine”, made official for the academic year 2020/2021.

In a report on the occasion of the 5th anniversary of the inauguration of the Faculty, President of Al-Azhar University of Gaza, Ahmad Asâad El Tayyane, stressed that this new specialty is part of the vision by the University’s administration with a view to training a generation specializing in all agricultural and environmental sciences.

This Faculty, which was created in 1992 in Beit Hanoun and subsequently rebuilt with a donation of US $ 7.8 million, granted by HM King Mohammed VI, has trained hundreds of agricultural engineers, working today at the main centers and institutions of Palestine.

This facility, which bears the name of the late HM King Hassan II, is made up of 16 classrooms, 6 laboratories, a library, a computer room, a refreshment area, a prayer room and administrative premises.

The construction of the Hassan II Faculty of agricultural and environmental sciences was entrusted to the Bait Mal Al-Quds Asharif Agency over an area of ​​3,000 m², he added.

El Tayyane expressed his gratitude and thanks to HM King Mohammed VI “for all forms of effective solidarity towards the Palestinians of Gaza and their fellow citizens of all Palestine”.

He also, on behalf of all the members of the Al-Azhar University Council and all the students of the Hassan II Faculty, praised the ongoing efforts of HM the King and the Bait Mal Al-Quds Agency in support of higher education institutions in Palestine.
