Morocco Re-elected to the Presidency of the African Water Association
Bamako – Morocco, in the person of the acting Director General of the Electricity and Drinking Water Office (ONEE), Abderrahim El Hafidi, was unanimously re-elected on Saturday in Bamako as the president of the African Water Association (AfWA).
This re-election for a second term (2018/2020) took place at the Association’s General Assembly.
This is a renewed confidence placed in Morocco to continue to lead this prestigious association, El Hafidi told MAP, noting that this is also a recognition of Morocco’s know-how and skills in the water sector.
The re-election of the Kingdom at the head of this association reflects the credibility that Morocco enjoys within the African community, he pointed out.
AfWA aims to coordinate the search for knowledge and latest development in the technical, legal, administrative and economic fields for drinking water and to promote the exchange of information on methods, processes and procedures of drinking water production, supply and sanitation.
