OECD: Morocco Highlights Its Action Plan for SDGs Implementation
Paris – Morocco has highlighted its action plan for the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), at the meeting, held Tuesday in Paris, of the OECD Council on the Sustainable Development Agenda by 2030.
Speaking at the meeting, the kingdom’s Ambassador in France, Chakib Benmoussa, said that the plan is based on six points: broadening the SDG appropriation process, aligning them with national priorities, controlling the coordination of public policies, while ensuring their convergence and coherence.
It is also about strengthening the statistical system, monitoring and evaluating the SDGs, as well as the issue of financing, the Moroccan diplomat said.
In addition, Benmoussa said that within the framework of its African policy and its desire to promote South-South cooperation, Morocco is willing to invest more in bilateral or multilateral cooperation on the continent for promoting sustainable development and sharing its experience.
The meeting was meant to provide a framework for dialogue among OECD members and partners on their efforts to implement the 2030 Agenda, notably an exchange of experiences among countries on planning and governance for SDGs and an initial discussion on the cross-border effects of domestic policies in relation to SDGs.
