‘Women4Climate’ Initiative kicked off to Strengthen Women’s Leadership in Climate

Marrakech, 11/11/2016 (MAP) – “Women4Climate” initiative was kicked off, Friday in Marrakech, by Anne Hidalgo, Mayor of Paris, to strengthen women’s leadership in climate change.

“The negotiations of the Agreement have been accomplished thanks to women leaders who will play an important role in achieving their objectives in our cities”, said Hidalgo during a press conference on this initiative.

“The position of women in adaptation to climate change is crucial (…). They can contribute to solutions”, she said, adding that 85 cities in the world are committed to protecting the climate.

In this context, she recalled that “climate disturbance causes migrations, sources of conflict on the planet”, Highlighting the unique role of women in the transformation of cities.
