COP22, Opportunity to Exchange Expertise Between Vietnam, Morocco (Vietnamese President)

Hanoi, 10/11/2016 (MAP) – President of the Republic of Vietnam, Tran Dai Quang, said that the COP22, held on November 7-18 in Marrakech, is an opportunity for his country, “one of the most affected by climate change”, to exchange experience and expertise with Morocco.

Quang, who received Wednesday in Hanoi Azzedine Farhane who handed him his credentials as ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of Morocco to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, expressed confidence in the ability of Morocco to ensure the success of this global event.

Vietnamese President also voiced his satisfaction with the development of relations between Morocco and his country in all fields, noting that Africa, particularly Morocco, is one of the priorities of Vietnam’s foreign policy.

He also asked the Moroccan ambassador to convey his congratulations to HM King Mohammed VI for Morocco’s achievements in the economic and social fields.

The accession of Morocco to the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) is an ideal opportunity for the country to open up to the economic sphere of Southeast Asia, the Vietnamese Head of State added.

For his part, Farhane reaffirmed Morocco’s willingness to further consolidate cooperation and friendship relations with the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
